Family Breeders of British Shorthair Cats

We are family breeders of British Shorthair Cats. Kittens are raised in our home receiving lots of love and attention making them very well socialised and lovely additions to your family. We are registered with the GCCF and council licensed.

Our love for British Shorthairs

Our love for the breed began many years ago, with Hannah’s father being a long term Breeder of British Shorthairs. We have owned British Shorthair cats for 16 years and bred our own for 4 years.

Our Care

We believe diet is fundamental to the long term health of our cats, and feed all our cats and kittens Raw food. This is the closest to what they have naturally evolved eating, much better for their gut health (evident by the odour of their faeces)and reduces urinary and kidney issues common in males.

Testing and Health Checks

All our breeding cats are health and genetically tested (and negative) for Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and ALPS.

All our kittens are health checked by Vets twice before leaving and receive 2 x PureVax Vaccines (better for the breed)

Socialisation

Our kittens are all raised in our family home so receive lots of handling and attention. They are used to noise and using a scratch post and litter tray.

Registration

Our cats are all registered with the GCCF under the prefix Irisbluebird. Even if you want your kitten to simply be a pet, this is important as it ensures you are getting a genuine British Shorthair that has received the necessary health checks and care.

Our Kittens and after care

Our kittens all leave at 13 weeks of age with 4 weeks free Pet Plan Insurance, are fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and wormed.

Their paperwork includes 5 generation pedigree.

Each kitten leaves with toys, a scent blanket and a lifetime of advice and support.
